The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international volunteer organization in the Catholic Church, founded in Paris in 1833 for the sanctification of its members by personal service to the poor.
Innumerable Catholic parishes have established “conferences”, most of which affiliate with a diocesan council. There are a great variety of outreach programs sponsored by the local conferences and councils, addressing local needs for social services.
St. Charles Borromeo founded a conference of the Society in February of 2018. A commissioning of its officers by our pastor, Rev. Daniel Kirk, was held on February 18. In the photo below, the officers are, from left to right,
- Kathy Karsch, Spiritual Advisor
- Phil Karsch, Treasurer
- John Conville, Vice President
- Tim Hurley, President
